Custom-made tin for Epitaph: third place Packaging Awards 2023!

An assignment with a musical twist, which landed us third place at the Packaging Awards 2023 in the Promotional Packaging category!

We were commissioned by the record label of Australian metal band Parkway Drive to develop a tin container to carry their latest CD. The record label Epitaph is a global brand, and its European office was set to launch the new CD in north-western Europe. The tin securely and safely holds the CD and it also comes with several extra goodies.

Tailor-made tin with unique design

Of course, the tin should have a distinctive, unique look to deliver a good, lasting first impression. The lid and body are embossed, that is, in 3D. The embossing had to be realised at multiple heights, which worked out extremely well technically! The print is in gloss, while the background is matt. This makes the logo stand out even more. The outside is in black and grey and the inside is in colour.

Collaboration

We arrived at this unique design through much consultation and collaboration with the client. The design was provided by the client, which has a great designer on staff. The project is highly successful and completely different from any other we have had the pleasure of completing over the years. As you can see, tin can packaging is not limited to food packaging, but can also be used to package all sorts of non-food items as well!
